This is expected to go for $5,000 - $10,000 at the upcoming CNC auction. Anyone want to go splitsies?

Considering their rarity, some NFLD specimen strikes are available at very reasonable prices, in my opinion...

@SPP - agreed and not just the specimen strikes. The whole issue is far rarer than it's Canadian counterpart however for whatever reason the coins just don't attract the same level of interest.

It is strange indeed. I may not speak for everyone, but in my opinion NL coinage is more attractive and more fun to collect.

@Deductable Totally agree - nice to look at and also a very manageable number of coins to focus on. A few very interesting variants. There are also lots of super-rare 'white whale' coins out there. Like, for example, is there another obverse 2 1871 5 cent out there somewhere?

everything is fine what you guys say. I am saying for years: one morning we wake up and that is the night US collectors wave woken up, and all NL coins above VF are triple + !!!
hopefully, I am still alive when this happens.
About the subject coin... a super coin, but please do not forget who is selling it!
