1995 D Dime _ Vice Job Or Die Clash?

Really doesn't matter, but the coin was placed on sandpaper and then squeezed a vice transferring the mirrored coin image on your coin. The damage and the ring of the outer rim give it away. SamCoin Pillar of the Community United States 3237 Posts	Posted 08/16/2021 12:25 pm Agree that it's just damage, but I think what you were trying to ask was if it was double struck, not if it was a clash. A clash is a completely different phenomenon where the dies strike each other without a coin in the striking chamber, transferring partial design elements from the reverse to obverse die and vice versa. If it is in fact raised metal, and not created by a dent or ding, then it would be called a die chip or die gouge. I can't really tell from your pic if there's a nick in the metal that is creating the raised spot. Report this Post to the Staff
