Agree. Just a badly mangled coin.
There is no way that could happen during the striking of the coin.

The only reason I thought that is because the ridges on the edge of it are not damaged they're still all fully intact

The only error made with this coin was that the banks and the Feds allowed this one to remain in circulation.
