After purchasing a Digital Microscope, I have been checking my collection. I forgot about this one. This is what I believe to be a 1968S Small Die Clip? Now it may look obvious, yet one never knows. So leave your opinion. So far I am batting Zero when I post something I think is an error. Also check out my post on a roll of 1960D small dates. Enjoy

Looks like a clipped planchet to me, I'll look for a die chip though lol

Also you should show the rim where the clip is to make sure it's not PMD

It looks good from these images, as a Clipped or Incomplete Planchet. The coin shows a Blakesley Effect directly opposite the clip, which is a good indication that it's a true mint error. The edge of the missing area will help verify the origin of the anomaly.

You should be able to get a good idea of the percentage of metal missing if you can let us know the weight.

Sure looks like planchet clip to me (not a die clip). The rim at the opposite the clip looks deformed when it went through the rimming process

@arby, after a rinse in acetone to remove your fingerprint, you should save this one in a 2x2 I think. It's a fun find!
