I have an 1875 Indian Head cent that has an odd patina to it. Not sure if it's copper, zinc or what. Also the coin weighs 2.6,3g. Instead of the normal 3.11g. is it possible it could be a zinc coin without the copper coating?

Tough to tell without a clear obverse and reverse pic, but based on this image I'd a venture a guess at wear , in combination with environmental damage accounting for some weight loss.

Have you verified that your scale is accurate? 15% weight loss is a lot to blame on wear, although it does look heavily corroded. There weren't any copper plated zinc coins in 1875.

Yes,scale is accurate. According to PCGS they were made with 95% copper 5%, tin and zinc so I wasn't sure if maybe that had something to do with it

Basically sounds like a fake, However, don't see many people faking a 1875 Cent.
