Hello,

I have recently searched through a box of uncirculated 2021-P Washington Crossing the Delaware quarters. When I was going through them, I came across one quarter where there was an extra line across Washington's hat. I thought it was interesting and looked for more. Out of the entire box, I only found 5 quarters with this "extra line." They all appear to have the same line in the same spot. I'm pretty new to coin collecting, so I don't know exactly what the line is or what it is caused by. Can someone please give me their opinion? It looks kind of like a strike-through caused it, but I'm not really sure. Also, sorry for the bad picture quality, I didn't have time to get better photos.

Here is the quarter in question:

Here is a "normal" one:

I can take better photos later if they are needed.

If anyone can give me their opinion on the coin, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Looks like Machine Doubling on that area. Note how just the outside edges of the rise are affected. Probably a high bounce after the strike. This can be same or different from strike to strike. If you compared examples from the same roll you might some alike/some different/some normal all struck by the same machine. MD doesn't follow rules:
