It has a strange color like a dark gray almost lead color on the back side & has no metallic look or shine. The front looks normal besides looking a little dark. Here's a picture of both sides & the side of the quarter. I used a normal quarter in the pics to compare with.

Looks like some form of Environmental Exposure has affected the quarter.
Whatever caused it, it is considered damage.

No it's definitely not environmentally damaged. This is something else. The metal almost seems fake like it's counterfeit or something.

No it's definitely ED. ED can take on all kinds of color, depends on what chemical it was exposed to.

Ok you clearly are not listening to me. It is NOT ED. (Environmental disfunction) it is definitely something else. The feel of it is almost plastic. It's almost like the metal was made wrong when it was poured or some other proponent was introduced as it was poured.

What's the weight. Chemicals will eat into the surface of the coin, making it 'feel" different.

First of all, ED stands for Environmental Damage.
Also blanks are not poured. They are punched out of rolled sheets, in this case sheets of Copper with a Nickel copper cladding on eithers side so "some other proponent" could not have been introduced.
No matter what caused it, it is damage.
