First post here.
Got into collecting recently.

Came across a 2000 d Nee Hampshire quarter with some sort of staining on both the front and back.

What would cause this.

Sorry about quality of pics, but best I can do with the camera on my phone.

Also this is my first time trying to upload pics, so sorry if I screwed it up.

Appears to be environmental damage

I agree. Likely stained with a liquid like a soda. Regardless, it's post-mint damage. Worth just 25 cents, unfortunately.

Environmental staining/tarnishing/discolouration. Could be a chemical stain or reaction, or exposure to the elements. Not worth trying to remove it, even if possible. Worth face value only, no premium I'm afraid.

Red and Green? Could it have been decorated sometime ago for some Christian holiday that is observed in the month of December?
