I was wondering what the other members take on this error is. I am not very versed in bill errors (or any errors for that matter)As you can see from the photo, the last digit of the bottom left serial number is partial. Is this a common error? and what steps should I take (get it graded or just put it in a protective sleeve). Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

What the It looks like an odometer about to roll over to the next number...

I am pretty sure it is an error of some sort but I am not sure how the serial numbers are set up on a printing plate so I have no idea how it would be caused. Hopefully someone will come along with more info

Thanks for the input so far. I got if from my mom a few years ago and forgot about it. To me it looks like the "C" that was supposed to be there rolled and maybe a "D" was the next letter.

Nice find, that is an error. This serial number wheel error is caused by the wheel either being improperly set or broken. That's a pretty dramatic one, too, and they tend to go for a good premium.

What do y'all think about getting it graded? Its still pretty crisp, and the only problems I can see are the stain by the "A" seal, and a small tear above the "0" on the the right upper corner and a even smaller on under the "O" of dollars. .

Many will refer to that as a "rolled digit" and yes, it would command a premium. Don't know that I'd spend money getting it graded though unless it was a high grade CU note.
