1943 P LWC it is a no doubter DDR but absolutely nothing matches up with known stages. It's either the DDR-001 or the DDR-006. It looks more like the 006 in hand but without any markers to identify I'll just put this one in a 2x2.

I just posted one of these that I couldn't identify. Mine go to the Class VI graveyard, in a tube labeled, you guessed it, simply "CLASS VI".

As you said, without markers, these are tough.

Here is a DDR-001,

Compared with a normal cent. The 'S' on PLURIBUS looks like it is pregnant?

Compare with Variety vista images. On worn die might be our match, or just a different die that is not listed on v.v?

I may send it in just to see what number they give it.

Looks like 006 or 008. The markers for 006 are pretty good, but may not be visible on a lightly corroded coin. 006 has a minor doubled eye that is also tough to see on anything but solid coins.

That's a really nice class 6, but a head-scratcher. Nice side by sides Coop.

Looks like it's a later die state after the edges of the die have been polished making the tops of the letters of EPU tapered (almost cone shaped).

Is that the beginnings of a die chip in the lower part of the B (BUS) or debris?

TB, I really think it's the 006. Pete, it's just debris.

If you see something on another area of the coin, you can make more side by sides to ID for sure. I picked up the images of all the listed ones for that year of just those devices. But if you note something different on your coin, maybe try the side by sides to see that convinces you. It looks like the UNUM looks more like DDR-006. So it maybe that die number.
