I search coins with a digital microscope and have found this certain pattern on multiple coins different years and different mints. What is this?

They are reed damage from another coin hitting on the fields on your coin:

Those are damage to the coin.

to the CCF

It looks like the reeding from another coin coming in contact with it.

Coop beat me to it by a minute.

Thanks to you all for this. I got excited about the first one I found, then I found it on some others different years and mints so I thought it must be just damage but it is interesting to know how/from what.

It could be the Lock Ness Monster, but I don't see any water. SO... with the above replies. Contact marks from other reeded coins.

ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!
