1955 Proof Lincoln Cent DDR-007, Stage C
http://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%20...5PDDR007.htm

I won this back at the end of July. I was having a lot of difficulties finding the match until I was able to see the lite die scratches on the outside wheat seed (left wheat) in line with the base of the U (UNITED). Boy, they were a booger to get images of. These scratches are also what I based my estimate of the die stage C since they didn't seem to continue across 3 of the seeds.
Enjoy.

And as a bonus, it appears to have been "struck through" a fibre (forming a couple of right angles) between the rim and shoulder.
It is difficult to get good images of the struck through, but I'm about 98% sure it's not a crack because of the right angles to it and it appears to be incuse.

Excellent grab, Cliff -- Wexler and NGC list it as a TDR [triple-die reverse] to boot. Nice job on getting a pic of that wheat scratch.
You get it off of ebay?

Thanks Guys. And thanks for the pointer about Wexler. I did find it listed as WDDR-001 but forgot to make note of it and missed where he listed it as a triple DDR.

Ahh, must have missed that one -- Have been concentrating more on proof LWCs this year and don't remember bidding on that one.

You also have the die-dot in the N of CENT as a marker though I don't recall which die state it is in.

Thanks again. I see that is a marker for Stage "A" reverse on doubleddies.com

Interesting but a little bit of a head-scratcher for me.
My coin is bright red and doesn't exhibit frosting like I would expect to see on a Stage A coin.
