I have been reading the forum for awhile and only recently decided to participate. There are some very informative and awesome responses here. However there are a few responses that I get the feeling we shouldn't be asking questions because they have been answered 5 or 10 years ago on this forum. To those of you that have responded to my questions I truly thank you (and not because I am supposed to thank you because I truly mean it). This hobby is very enjoyable but also frustrating for a semi-poor man. If not for this forum several of us could not have our questions answered. Thanks again to those of you who try to educate. anyway I will keep asking if you guys will keep answering.

You are very welcome. A lot of questions can be answered by using the search box upper left of page. John1

The Search box offers thousands of past threads on every numismatic subject from A to Z. You can learn a lot faster there than you can here! to the CCF!

Are you reaching out from Church Point today, grospoisson. If so, it's great to know you're safe and it looks like you have cell service and/or power.

Not everyone does well with searching at first, so it is okay to ask questions and allow the seasoned members lend a hand.

I am reaching out from Church point and we did dodge a bullet. The right hand wobble of the storm put else out of the crosshairs by around 40 miles. I also use the search box often and it does help. If all we did was read the forum, then we would deprive more seasoned collectors of ever answering our questions and they would not have anything to do. I quickly noticed that I can get a different prospective since there are new members contributing to the post, that may not have been around a few years ago.

I actually do both (ask and read) some of the old threads are very interesting. I recently read a thread from a few years ago about an IHC collection that they put for sale and got less than expected. But sometimes the question isn't answered so a new thread makes more sense. I like replying to questions that are different and as long as you aren't asking to grade your 200th Morgan or asking about the cent you found in a parking lot that you ran over and want to know what error it is, I'll gladly help

I've been collecting for over 50 years, but only a few months ago joined this forum. I've quickly found there is a great deal of expertise at hand, and there is also a great deal of information to be found in the history of previous threads. A lot of basic questions can often be answered by searching first, and yes, I notice some folks can be a bit abrupt when addressing a question that has been asked many times before.
However, if you can't find the answer you need, don't hesitate to throw it out there again! There is always someone willing to help, no matter the question...

From Orange, TX to Houston, TX is more the cajun culture then the typical east Texas twang, at least in my opinion. hfjacinto you have been very helpful in all my posts and it's noticed and much appreciated. I for one have to explain the same thing four times daily. I guess some people may be wired for that others are less patient. I search old topics religiously but often never seem satisfied with the responses. I also bought every book on the subject that I read from cover to cover! Anyway thanks to all you people who try to help.
