I in my searches noticed this 1942 s had what seems like something behind the s. Any help is appreciated. And sorry for the multiple postings. Not trying to spam the forum

I see what you are seeing and I'm not sure. There are no OMM listings for this date but that's kind of what it looks like. cc has three listing that show a similar anomaly and wonder if it's not a punch with an issue. None of these listings are even close to you mm location. 001, 012, 014 and 020 show a similar anomaly.
