Some of these caught my eye this morning while perusing another forum.

Does anyone collect these? Who are the dealers that specialize in them? I've queried Vcoins and Numisbids but come up empty.

I'm in a bit of a lull with my ancients, so considering branching out.

I've bid on them occasionally, but never with enough vigor to actually win the auction. Maybe SARC (Stephen Album)?

I've got one and really like it. I bought mine at a show, so I can't recommend a dealer. But I do recommend adding one to anyone's world coin collection.

Just got these from Clark Smith over the weekend. Silver ichibu and an electrum nibu. The ichibu dates from 1868, the nibu from between 1864-60.

Although I specialize in ancient coinage, I'm also a Japanophile having lived there and continuing to study the language.
