Any word on what they are doing with the 2010 quarter?
I hope that national parks thing got killed in the water.

I just feel that the market is being flooded. One coin design per denomination per year please. I believe the only coin to follow this has been the dime and half dollar (sort of) as you can only get commemorative half dollars through the mint. The Govt is exploiting this...

I'm with you on that. Honestly, I'm less annoyed by the state parks than by the U.S. colonial territories or whatever it is they're doing in 09. Two in a year, like the Louisiana Purchase Jefferson nickels, is about my limit. I am wondering when they're going to finally change the dime... I guess when they announce that Social Security is done for?

The mint is just going overboard with the State Parks quarters. I honestly have to say that I won't be collecting any of them.

I don't think I'll collect the business strikes. I just want the US to start making coinage again instead of souvenirs. They are treating their currency like a collectible and then flood the markets with it so it's worth 0. This has to come back to bite them in the ass. We need Peter Schiff or Jim Rogers.

I agree with the "it's too much" posts. I think the State Quarters was a good idea, it got more people interested in coins. And the Westward Journey and Lincoln changes this year are OK. They are short lived and just enough to add some interest but not like a catfish thrown on shore gasping for breath dieing a slow lingering death. Even adding the territories on the end of the State Quarters is OK, but rehashing the whole thing with park quarters is too much. But, I'll collect them all anyway. Normally my collection is from circulation with few purchases (I'm cheap and poor) so anything in circulation adds some excitement for me. And since these are the quarters in circulation, I'll collect them though not with the abandon I did the State Quarters. Fatcat
