I picked up a small batch of Morgans today and this one has me stumped at first glance I see bag groveling then under a 10 x loop it gets interesting. VAM experts what is up with her face? Thank you in advance.

Can't be dropped letters as those convex letters imposed across her check spelling liberty only indicate post mint damage right?
Too bad its cleaned and damaged...oh well will keep trying someday will become enlightened.
Rest in Peace

It looks like circulation damage to me. The upper cheek and lower jaw are areas that are recessed in the die and not normally areas that transfer clash. I have seen the eagles beak transfer near the hair curl on the lower jaw but that's about it.
