As some of you know, I am tied for the number 1 PCGS Registry Set of ATB 5 oz. Bullion coins. I posted on the CCF and got some great advice. I was offered by a collector a VERY fair price for the set (excluding three high priced items, listed below).

After thinking about it, knowing the risks of unknown bidding since the market for these items is so VERY small, I decided to accept that offer to sell to a collector the vast majority of my set. Yes, it was number 1, but I decided it was time to sell. Selling the majority way above spot reduced the small but real risk of having some of them sell at bullion prices via auction.

I shipped the below three items to GC today FedEx Priority Overnight. They'll presumably appear next week, and I'll "Retire" my set.

Since the interest in these items is very sparse, once they are "Live", I'd like to post a hotlink to those three lots on CCF to try to alert those very few collectors who might have interest of their availability. However, the rules allow for a post in only one forum (and I agree that rule is proper and warranted). Once posted, I'll have a Moderator remove this post.

These are the areas I can choose from:
1. This Commemorative Forum.
2. The Precious Metal Forum.
3. U.S. Coin Forum.
4. Numismatic items for Sale Forum.
5. Sales Promotions Forum (Heritage, GC, etc.)

It's quite clear that in theory an appropriate forum would be #5. However, my goal is to try to inform the very few that would be interested in the below items that they are available. If there was a Forum just for the handful of collectors of these items, that's where I'd post it, but that's not the case, and understandably so. Since I can post in any forum that is appropriate for these coins (as long as that's the ONLY forum I post in), what advice can you give as to YOUR thoughts on where I can best reach the few people interested in the following coins:

1. 2012 Hawaii Volcanoes, PCGS MS69DMPL First Strike.
2. 2019 American Memorial MS69DMPL First Strike - One of ONLY 3 with the DMPL suffix!
3. 2020 Weir Farms MS69DMPL First Strike - One of ONLY 15 with the DMPL suffix!

I thank everyone for the great advice, recently and presumably to come.

Steve

Per the rules, this is the only option for promoting an off-site sale at GC. Sales are not permitted at all in the first three and the fourth is only for direct sales to CCF members.

However, you are permitted to add a link to the sales topic in your signature, that way it is present every time you post until time the sale ends and you remove it from your signature.

Steve,

First off, sorry you sold the set!
But I'm honestly happy that you were able to get a fair price. I wish you good luck when you put the last 3 for sale!

@jbuck: Thanks for the reminder/clarification!

@Winesteven: It's clear you took great pride in the set. It's great that you were able to find a good home for it and sell the "keys" under your own terms.

So, what's the next collecting adventure?

My lifelong collecting challenge of putting together and upgrading my Type Sets/Dansco 7070 has been completed about a year ago, other than for a potential upgrade or two. As such, I started the following projects about a year ago, and have made significant progress:

1. Lincoln Wheat DATE set, but every coin must be RED.
2. Standing Lib Quarter Full Head DATE set.
3. Franklin Proof Set.

A few months ago I started my most recent project, an Indian Head cent collection. But to make it challenging, every coin not only has to have nice eye appeal for the grade, but must also have BOTH a CAC and also Rick Snow's Eagle Eye Photo Seal. So far I've succeeded in getting 17 coins.

@Winesteven,
Did you set any extra challenges for the Franklin Proof set? Because a straightforward proof set by date could quickly be assembled without much effort.
