I presume they have dissolved the corporation for unknown reasons. Sometimes corporations do this when they go BK or are subject to lawsuit(s).

Whoever wrote this release doesn't appear to be too bright. "There is no difference between coins encapsulated with holders and labels bearing Numismatic Guaranty Company or Numismatic Guaranty Company."

Currently on their website:

"There is no difference between coins encapsulated with holders and labels bearing Numismatic Guaranty Corporation or Numismatic Guaranty Company."

My emphasis added.

They should send me some appreciation for pointing out their goof. But, of course, they wont.

They may just be switching from a corporation to an LLC.

Lawyers flexing their importance here it seems. Headaches for a lot of people during the transition and answering ongoing confusion.

That money could have been used to improve their grading ops, but alas, a lawyer feels satisfied. Don't want to downplay the importance of this.

Free enterprise, it seems. Wonder how the nation north of Seoul would govern the naming of collectible grading services.

Meaningless corporate shell game.

Either way they are a wholely owned subsidiary of Certified Collectables Group (https://www.collectiblesgroup.com/)

http://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/Co...earch/ByName

On 6/28/2021 they were merged into "NGC Reorg Sub LLC"
http://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/Co...P01000118256

NGC Reorg Sub LLC was created on 6/22/2021 and inactivated on 6/29/2021.
http://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/Co...L21000309255

The inactivation was filed by "NEW NGC, INC." (be aware there was an NEW NGC, INC. the successor to National Gypsum registered as a foreign corporation - North Carolina - up to 2/4/2021.

Our New NGC, INC. was created on 6/17/2021

http://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/Co...r=NEWNGC%20P210000578000&aggregateId=domp-p21000057800-15bad78f-90c4-4274-96c7-40f463e1c5e6&searchTerm=New%20NGC&listNameOrder=NEWNGC%20F930000025440

If I had to guess, merging them into an LLC and then out of the LLC into a new corporation washed away some existing corporate liabilities. But their web site explicitly says the guarantee continues (snap a .pdf copy for your records).

Seems they should invest the money wasted on upgrading their website and submission process.
