To me it looks like a soda (pop) was left on it and it started to eat away the nickel alloy need your all's opinion also on what looks to be md ?

Just a spender. Machine Doubling and some of the clad falling away from the coin edge. Other areas are stained. Looks like a cup holder coin for a time.
