Nice cherry pick Tanman. You can definitely see the doubling of the stars.

Nice one! Pretty easy to see and a solid doubled die on an obscure denomination.

Very nice! I saw this on GC and thought it might be the DDR, but wasn't sure enough from the pics to pull the trigger and bid on it. That's not an easy one to find.

I believe I have an earlier thread on my specimen if I am not mistaken.

Very nice tough variety to find, and you cherrypicked it as well makes it even better. You got it for a fair price too.

There are a dozen + DDR DDO RPD across the seira, most are ignored by the TPGs. If you want, grab a copy of "The complete guide to the 3cs" by Fivaz and Zack.

Quote: There are a dozen + DDR DDO Good to know! I haven't been able to find any reference to a 3CS doubled die anywhere online besides this '52. I'll have to look into that book.

Quote: If you want, grab a copy of "The complete guide to the 3cs" by Fivaz and Zack. Just a correction the book is "The Authoritative Reference on Three Cent Silver Coins" by Kevin Flynn and Zach Winston. It was published in 2011 and is the only book I know of covering exclusively the Three Cent Silver piece. They run around $40-50 when available, and are getting pretty tough to find. I wouldn't wait, jump on one quick before they become impossible to find and prices force them upwards of $75.00+

No worries BStrauss3, proof then that they are getting tough to find, Kevin also has a Three Cent Nickel book that is much easier to find, and tons of both of his Two Cent Piece books are still around. Some of his books just didn't get the print runs because they probably knew the audience was lower, so less printings. I have most of his tougher books to find, I think. Kevin is also a member here at CCF but hasn't posted in a long time. I just checked and his last visit here was on 03/13/2016.

Yep, small print runs are the bane of specialty books.
POD - Print On Demand - lowers the cost of entry, and can keep books in publication, but has its own issues.
I can print one copy of the book I'm working on for $28 + s/h - nice for proof copies. But the price break is only 5% at 100 copies...
