1966 Nickel Word Error? - Coin Community Forum

Alfonsopyro New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 09/17/2021 03:34 am I initially thought the words were worn off on in good we trust but upon further inspection it looks like they were never there. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/17/2021 10:06 am The clash mark that runs through the '9' on the date, is probably a clue that the die was polished to remove clash marks on the obverse die. But they may have not noticed the clash near the '9' area. So as already mentioned it is probably just a clashed die example with die polishing removing the fields on the weakened devices areas.
