I see a normal war time nickel with a reddish stain. It is 35% silver though.

Hi john1, I'm new to this site so please be patient with my presentation, I used my phone to post which makes it that much harder to fine tune things. Oh and the stain is copper and not a stain but its difficult to get a good clear in focus image with my phone. You see I can't afford a high res digital camera or a fancy microscope to prove that it's copper. Perhaps you can take my word for it instead of implying that I can't tell the difference between a stain and a metal.

Well the coin a copper/silver mix. But that is not copper. That is a stain. Looks like a normal War Nickel. They may have been a struck through or small lamination on the 'S' on Cents area. There is some silver melt value for it.

Believe me, this is a copper/silver alloy and not a copper nickel.
