I don't collect dimes. I collect Lincoln cents and somehow this auction for this dime came up in the Lincoln's. Please look at this auction. Is this an over date. I don't see the 1942/1-D.

I know the 1942/1-D is different than the 1942/1, and I see something there, but I'm unsure.

I see what looks like a "1" almost under the middle of the "2", but the "1" should be near the far left of the "2", with the upper serif of the "1" projecting from the top serif of the "2.

The BIGGEST problem is "NO RETURN". Chump money.

There should be traces of the top and bottom of the underdigit 1 visible at the left side of the 2 and the bottom of the 4 is obviously doubled in the genuine 1942/1-D dime. This appears to be an ordinary 1942-D coin in VF+ condition, worth about $2.00.

I'd bid accordingly!
Rest in Peace

On the 1942/1 P you are looking for a blatantly obvious 2/1 On the Denver Mint coin, you're looking for a blatantly doubled 4.

This coin is not an overdate and is worth $2.

Be cautious on ebay. Know your coins as there are many shady sellers.

Not if you're the seller, I guess.

Obviously, one should check before they bid. I did not know this one, but the overdate is blatant enough:

Not the overdate.
I cherried one, once, in a bag of junk silver, now sitting in an NGC XF-45 holder.

Sure, not as clear as the Philly overdate, but there has to be something there, but this one is,
well, junk silver.
