Fonte New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 09/21/2021 4:56 pm So I weighed all of my bicentennials today and everything seemed to be normal and under the 5.67g but this one weighed in at 5.73g. * Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. * Is this a normal thing to find when weighing coins? I'm a little confused why the weight would be more than 5.67g without any extra dirt or material stuck to the coin. Report this Post to the Staff

JimmyD Bedrock of the Community Canada 21611 Posts	Posted 09/21/2021 5:16 pm The mint is more interested in production than quality so there is an allowable tolerance on the weight of coins. Sometimes the strip from which the blanks are punched can be slightly thicker or thinner than normal. In your case the blank was slightly thicker but still within the accepted tolerance.
