Is it worth it?

I'm-Thinking-About-Getting-This-Recertified-Some-Time

PCGS graded it VF-35. Most people seem to disagree.

I have no reference guides here with me, but in all honesty, it may be a stretch to get EF out of it....I think the very nice "liberty" is what got it pumped up to a 35 to begin with.

What would the difference in price get you is the question I would ask.

The shield lines are fully separated but I know that doesn't show well...good detail on the leaves too

I originally thought VF-35 was fair, but people were saying XF-45 here and elsewhere

Actually, maybe I should just stick it in my album...no place for a no stars dime, but I could stick it in the 'no drapery' slot or something.

I bought this for $550 awhile ago which seemed like a good deal given that this is a VERY pq coin (imo, ,of course). I'm sure I could sell it for $600-700, and since a much uglier XF45 went for $700 on heritage, maybe I could bump that up to $750-800 or so if it got slabbed as that. I mean, I'm just talking about eventually. But then, I couldn't stick it in my album. Hmm....what to do...what to do

I don't remember if I commented on this coin before, but as of today I'm thinking this is fairly graded as choice VF. It could go EF-40 but I think it will take a bit of luck to put it over the hump.

If you're willing to risk the grading fee it might be worth a try. You of course would also be taking a chance that PCGS could downgrade it. If I saw this coin in a VF-30 holder at a show I don't think I would immediately think, "boy, that's undergraded!".

Good luck! Please let us know the result if you decide to try it.
