Hi, Could this Franklin half dollar be a die clash or struck thru error?

Hello Mary and welcome to the forum. Could you please provide us with full coin pictures of the obverse and reverse as well. Your close-ups are good, a little blue, but good. Most of the time it is very helpful to have the first two pictures be full shots of the coin in question, and then the details you are seeing.

I would have to have a description of what you see that makes you think this coin is outside the norm...because that's all I see.

Here are the full coin pics, the quality is poor, I seem to have a hard time taking good photo's on images that are high gloss, silver or mirror like.

I see a die clash?.. on the rim/collar below the 'D' in GOD and in the center of the same 'D'
On Obverse right field, right side of Franklin I see faint image of Bell from Reverse On Reverse I see a shadow like outline of Franklin's bust. I wont point out the doubling I see because I probably will be told it's Machine Doubling or Die Deterioration

I would sure like to see better pictures. The upper ones are too close and the lower ones are too far:-)

When we try to figure out if a coin is a clashed die or not, we need to see clear pictures of both sides of the coin that would be an accurate representation of the coin. That is tough to do with these pictures.

It may be trial and error but can you try to get pictures of the obverse and reverse where the pictures are clear, not unusually colored, and a little bigger than the ones you have been able to do of the obv. and rev. so far.

Thanks,
Bill

I also do not see anything unusual in these pictures. There may be something that doesn't show up well in your photos but at this point .... I can't see anything either.

Thanks,
Bill
