Hello and I am hopeful this posting finds everyone well and in good spirits. For many years I have tapped into the knowledge shared on this sight, today I finally registered an account. I very much appreciate your time and experience that is shared.

I am posting images of what I believe is a quarter error however I am unable to read the year in order to research the coin. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

Sorry, nothing in the minting process would cause this. It's just post mint damage.

The biggest clue is that the outside edge of the coin is distorted. This would not happen on a normal struck coin. The coin was altered post strike. So the coin was damaged.
