I have several Seated half dimes and Seated dimes that have very distinct clash marks on both the obv. and rev.

The issue is that I cannot seem to find variety #s for these type of coins. Theses variations should seemingly raise the value for these type of coins similar to how Morgan & Peace clashed VAMs do.

I need to first know the state of affairs on this issue. Then I will follow up with some ?s based upon the answsers I receive...

Seated dimes yes. Fortin's F-###: https://www.seateddimevarieties.com..._variety.htm

Seated half dimes, if there is a detailed reference for them it's not available for free online to my knowledge.

For Seated dimes there are two book Valentine's book commonly found for under $20.00, in great condition on ebay or Abebooks.

Al Blythe's book available from the NBS for free online: https://nnp.wustl.edu/library/book/555401 now out of print but usually around $45 or when the sell on ebay.

for Seated dimes I too use Gerry Fortin's site as it's the cumulative research of the big book book which is rather expensive when found $225+ usually, besides the website is the most recent up to date information on varieties, lots of changes since Kam Awhash and John McCloskey put out the earlier editions.

1992, Brian Greer published "The Complete Guide to Liberty Seated dimes" is also available on line at the NBS

The print version of Brian's book runs around $75+ when I see them on ebay.

I wanted to clarify the above statement and spread the good news that buried deep within the Seated dime book link is a FREE reference link to the Al Blythe book, 'The Complete Guide to Liberty Seated 'Half' Dimes':

https://nnp.wustl.edu/library/book/555401

What is very nice about these links is that the contrast and brightness can be adjusted for each page of the digitized book. The photos and written material are excellent for this unique series.

This newly discovered link will only serve to further complement the superb works of PCGS' CoinFacts and NGC's VarietyPlus.en route to enhancing the value of my extensive SHD collection.

Die clashes do not create new varieties.
