The final US Mint production numbers are in and the 2008 JFK halves were minted at 1.7 million Philly and 1.7 million Denver, making it the lowest ever of the entire series.

Potential key date down the road? Assuming 2009 mintages are not even lower...

It is the lowest mintage, but not necessarily a key date. I speculate that 2008 produced more "gems" than 1970 or 1987. However, this is still something to consider!

Eagle the 08 Kennedys are no longer available..

Nope.......NOT GONE OR TOO LATE TO ORDER THEM !

I just ordered 2 more sets of the 2008 Kennedy P&D two roll sets and one set of the 2009. Also a 2009 proof Territorial Qtr. Set.....
Notice on the order it says "IN STOCK".
HERE'S MY "ORDER RECEIPT" THAT I COPIED AND PASTED FOR YA FOR EVIDENCE.

Product Name Quantity Price (each) Total Availability Gift Box Product Ship Date

2008 Kennedy Half-Dollar Two-Roll Set (2D9)
2 $32.95 $65.90 In Stock N

United States Mint 2009 District of Columbia & U.S. Territories Quarters Proof Set™ (Q09)
1 $14.95 - $14.95 In Stock N

2009 Kennedy Half-Dollar Two-Roll Set (2E9)
1 $32.95 $32.95 In Stock N

Subtotal (w/o Shipping & Handling) $113.80

Shipping & Handling (includes any Gift Box charges) $4.95

Total Order $118.75

I placed this order just 30 seconds ago.............GO TO "PRODUCT INDEX" (3rd Page) LIKE I MENTIONED UP ABOVE. NOT "BAGS & ROLLS" WHERE THE KENNEDY '08'S USED TO BE FOR SALE....YOU CAN PLACE THE ORDER THERE.
It's just that the Mint took the 2008 Kennedys down for sale from the "bags & rolls" area and put them in the "Product Index" area.
This is true unless they will be sending me an email saying that my order cannot be filled for those. But they ARE there and YOU CAN order them and it DOES NOT say "no longer available".

With a mintage of only 2M, the 2006-D Kennedy is a 'key date' also, yet still only bids for around $23 bucks per roll, last time I checked. Indeed the 2008 P&D production figures are a bit lower, but then again since NONE of modern (2002 to date) Kennedys have ever appreciated in value significantly, I'm not really feeling that much more optimistic about the 2008's :(

Did not realize they move ther 2008 JFK rolls to another part of the web site. Silly me. I guess there is still time to buy.

I'd be doing this for long-term investing, but if I'm forced to sell before I'm ready, I still should make out ok. They are only about 85 cents a coin right now and should go to $1.00 or more after they sell out.

I'm not finding the 2008 JFK halves on the US Mint site. It is not under bags and rolls and it's not under "Product Index" as of right now. Maybe it sold out today?

But just how do you know that in the last 20 seconds they didn't sell them all?
Probably another Mint idea to make everyone interested in collecting coins. Sounds like this one is working.

I found mine in rolls. It look like someone had busted up mint sets as I got like a whole roll of mint set dollars that day. I was only missing a couple after that.
