This is my most interesting NCLT one dollar find in circulation so far (probably because it's coloured) ... 2012 Asian Elephant from the 'Animals of the Zoo' series.

Nice finds, coaster.
I don't think the pad-printing on that coloured coin would last very long in the wild before it wore off. You rescued it in time.
I am finding NCLT dollar coins at the rate of about 1 in every 885 coins I noodle. Are you finding them at a similar rate?

I don't usually keep records with the exception being when I noodled a set of the 2019 Great Aussie Coin Hunt A-Z coins. http://goccf.com/t/378775Out of 15,500 coins I found 12 that were NCLT giving an average of 1 in every 1292. - 2003 Korean War - 2018 C'wealth Games x 4 - 2010 100th Anniversary of Australian Coins - 2012 Wheat Sheaf - 2014 A Voyage to Terra Australis - 2016 Royal Australian Mint x 2 - 2019 Mr Squiggle x 2 I'll try dig out a few more photos tomorrow.

Congrats on the various circulation finds!
I found the way the word "noodling" was used to be interesting. In the US, the word is often used to mean "think about" as in "Let me noodle that proposition for a bit."
It appears the word is used to mean "search" in Australia?

And apparently you also use this term to describe catching catfish with your bare hands! Quote: It appears the word is used to mean "search" in Australia? Yes, but it only applies to searching through coins ... actually I think I have also heard the term used for when fossicking for gemstones as well.

2018 Convict Era C mint mark. This dollar coin commemorates 150 years since the end of transportation of British convicts to Australia. I rather like the layout of the coin with the denomination on the obverse.

Anyone else think it's strange that the first commemorative NCLT dollar coin issued by the RAM was minted for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics?

Yes a little - I guess no dollar coins were needed for circulation that year? I thought I read in an old Australian Coin Review that the 1993 commemorative dollar was meant to be set only but there was an unexpected dollar coin shortage.

2001 Centenary of the Army (C mint mark) and 90th Anniversary of the Navy ( no mint mark). I found two Navy coins within a week of each other a few years ago from the same bank. Hadn't found one before and haven't found any since.
