This is not a simple "no B" variety, it is the rare variety with the owl. Check here: https://www.lefranc.net/monnaie,100...het,450.html You will see that the one with the owl has a much higher value.
Yes. It is. Thanks. My grandfather left me a big bin filled with world coins. This is the best find I found so far. I've been going through it for years now. Many coins came from his WWII experience. Not this one. A bunch of beautiful coins.
I'd like to suggest that you get some pliers and smash the staples flat. You may want to get a flat stapler. I keep two three ring binders of world coins, arranged by country, value, and date, in the living room for people to look through.
Very nice coin! I've been looking through old French coins in junk trays for years and never found one of these - they are very scarce!
Lucien Bazor retired as Chief Engraver of the Monnaie de Paris in 1958 and was succeeded by Raymond Joly. Bazor used a bird's wing as his privy mark whilst Joly used an owl. The 100 franc coin is the only 1958 coin that was issued with both privy marks.
