I agree with Tanman. Looks like a lighting issue to me as well

Quote: Do you accept possible varieties for attribution? I was planning on opening my site up for submissions at some point but I really don't have the time for that anymore. I'm working on a few other coin-related projects that I'm really excited about plus the normal school/work stuff. Though if Cecilia wants to send me an example I would be willing take some pics for them and give my in-hand opinion. They said they'll have one out to Wexler soon enough anyways, his opinion surely carries a bit more weight than mine.

Hello Cecilia. Are all of the pictures you are posting being taken from the same individual Lincoln Cent? If you have numerous Lincoln Cents, that originated from the same roll that appear to have a doubled ear, can you please post other pictures of these additional Cents that you have found from the same roll? Thank you.

In general, I am in the camp with the "doesn't match the shape of the ear" folks. But unsure how it could be a lighting issue. I've found entire rolls of the same RPM, or just the same die with nothing special about it, so that can happen. Couple coins need to get out to folks (and be returned of course). Tanman and Wexler I'd put at the top of the list. CONECA might be a choice. I'd be happy to look at it, although I don't have an attribution site like they do and still away from home trapping bats for another two weeks. It's an interesting coin, looks like a possible DDO, and really needs some hands on by a specialist. Hope OP can get it hands on to someone, and it works out as a great new DDO.

Tanman I would not mind sending you a few of these to look over for me. Wexler is super busy. Last time I sent him a coin it was a 2-month turnaround.

These new photos are very useful. Coins #2,3,5,6 in that new post all have the same curving die crack through the forehead and the eyebrow, they are all from the same die. The other coins don't seem to have a die crack at all. They could be from the same die just before the crack formed or they could be from a different die. But the die crack on those appears to be different from the one on the coin you started the thread with on Tuesday. The crack on the first coin is more linear. You have at least two different dies here. I have an AmScope stereo microscope. They are very expensive but I was extremely fortunate to have had one gifted to me. You can use the "Email Poster" icon at the top of this post to send me an email through CCF, or you can use the email that is at the bottom of the home page of my website below.

There are more with this curved die crack I just didnt want to photo all of them. These shiny coins give me problems with my eyes. They frustrate me :)

Hello I can't say for sure based on what I see in photos. I need to see the actual coin to say something definitively. That said, I will say that this one looks like it has potential. John

Anxiously waiting for confirmation. Hope they are real and that you get your name on the attribution! Yes, include me on your list if they are the real deal!

I just want to clear something up. When I said I found a whole roll of this coin I didn't mean I found them all in the exact same roll. I meant that I had found or them which is a whole roll. It did not dawn on me that this could be mistaken until someone specifically asked me about it. Sorry for any confusion
