Cecilia: I hate to be a Debbie Downer BUT it's just damage. I have the same in a 2020 LSC there was several in the rolls I searched. The lobe looks like it took a hit. Here is the ones I found, IT IS NOT DDO it's the shiny coin and lighting giving a doubled look. I hope I am wrong about you're coin and it IS but I don't think you're coin is a DDO. Two picture's SAME COIN at one angle and another. SAME SCOPE.

I agree with you. I don't think this is a true DDO. I honestly think it might be a lighting issue. These USB scopes put out so much white light even at the dimmest setting. It's hard to tell what you are looking at sometimes. I am sending some of these coins to another member so they can look at them through a different type of scope. They will be able to give more information hopefully in a few days.

What I do is stick my fingers up under the lights to block excessive lighting.

(Tanman's coin) To me it looks like a die polishing issue. Note how the devices look weakened on ONE CENT? It may be the fields are gone and now the sub devices are showing a reduction on the areas in question. I'm going to look to see if there are images of the full obverse and reverse? (Tanman's coin)

Not my coin. It definitely wasn't EDS with the couple of die cracks. But the detail seemed typical of a Denver coin. Soft and rounded as usual, didn't see any polishing. The second 2021-D die included with her coins had weak detail, especially around the ear. I didn't see anything on that one. I took photos of that one for comparison, but I'm away from my computer right now. Cecilia has the pics if she sees this before I get back and wants to post them.

Well the polishing and the die aging are two different events. They both don't happen at the same time. Its like the wrinkle population on seniors. If progresses so slowly that it takes someone who you haven't seen for sometime to mention them. Other wise, they sneak up on us.
