Aluminium 1, 2 and 5 fen coins from 1955 onwards.

I would have thought they were minted in their billions, but the ones that actually have their mintages listed are below 1 million.

Aluminium 1 Jiao coins from the 1990s. Mintages aren't listed but does anybody know how common they are.

Antimony coins for Kweichow Province (Y#429), were minted in 1931. Now very difficult for collectors to obtain.

I have found a bunch of lustrous Chinese 1, 2 and 5 fen coins from the late 1970s and 1980s that are probably the highest grade aluminium coins I've come across while going through bulk world coin. When I looked up the mintages only a few years were listed and they were a lot lower than I expected them to be considering the population of China.

For example 1977 2 fen has mintage of only 360,000?

1983 and 1984 mintages of all three denominations are 3 million or less.

Does anyone collect Chinese coins who would know if the other years with unknown mintages are similarly low?

Thanks coaster. It seems there are very few collectors of modern Chinese coins outside of China.
