I am from California. I can't get any good answers about my coins or know a good place to sell my coins in the San Diego area.

KarlyRae -- Try posting large and sharp photos of a coin or two (one coin per discussion thread) and ask some questions about them. Let's see how we respond.

When your post gets moved sometimes for you it appears to just vanish. Please look for it though. And as to your coins. Depending on what they are, may or may not be easy to sell. Fist find a coin store and ask them about the value.

Rarely will a coin dealer give you what you think the retail market price would be for your coins. After all they need to make a profit too. That said, many will outright lowball you and pressure you to sell now because if you come back to them later the offer may not be valid. Pawn shops will absolutely rip you off. Best bet is to learn how to grade the coins yourself, look up the retail value of the coin and see what the ebay market is paying for it from sold items category. ebay is probably the place to sell to realize the largest profit and get exposure to your listings. Even though the fees involved can add up, you will still do better selling privately rather than using a dealer.

It would be very useful for us to know something about your collection:

1. How big is it? would it all fit in a shoebox, a tote, or bigger than this?
2. Is it all or primarily US coins?
3. Is it mostly sets from the mint (in cases or envelopes), loose coins in bags, coins in rolls, coins in folders or something else?
4. Any silver coins?

Perhaps you could give us a one paragraph description of your collection, including the amount? I would say a brief description would be more useful right now than a lot of pictures. If you are not sure, take a few group pictures of the entire collection.
