I found what I thought was a P coin but when I was looking to see if it was doubled, I think I found a D above the date? Need advice. The pictures are not the best and I tried to get different angles and light.

There is no way a "D" would be punched above the date.
If there was, it would be raised. As John1 stated, just a stain
that looks like a D

The size is way to small to be a mintmark punching. Also note as mentioned the the stain will be level with the fields, a punching into the die will leave raised area on the coin. So it is not a 'D' mintmark.

As mentioned, the phantom mint mark is way too small to be a misplaced letter. I agree, this looks like a stain. No premium I'm afraid. Keep searching!
