I'm practicing my grading skills and want to get a second opinion from someone who knows more. I picked this and a 1900 1 cent coin from my local coin dealer yesterday out of the 1$ box. I also grabbed a few post 1900 cents. The 1900 one is unfortunately scratched (several) on the queen's face, along with a 1966 1$ coin but it has a fairly deep scratch on it as well but I got it for 20$ so wasn't to worried.

Was this worth it for 1$

I'll give it a VG10 maybe F12 and a buck is good. For a dollar I would get more till you can find a better one.

Rim damage on both sides might detail it?

They had a lot of old early 1900 late 1800 1cent coins and plenty of foreign britich Penny's and some other stuff. They are closed today so I might see if I can make it there on lunch break at work. I don't have any large cents other then one I bought on ebay and the 4 I picked up for 1$ each.

Edit: my guess was at VG8 so fairly close. And for 1$ figured couldn't go wrong.

I don't think they would all be worth 1$ one was really damaged, a huge gouge through the center of the coin, could have been a huge struck through but didn't have time to stay there long and didn't have a loupe.

Which reminds me I need to get a better loupe

Edit: I'll post the other ones I grabbed shortly but they are not as good a grab as this one I think
