Educate me on the details grade. The picture thru the plastic makes the coin look pitted but it's not. It has to be the different brown color on the front? or is it?
cleaned for sure 100%, look at the difference in color, especially on the obverse..looks someone dipped/cleaned it with a q-tip, as you can see the cleaning strokes through the date and liberty..
Good, I also thought this coin had probably been cleaned. Also, the reverse looks bad to my eyes, corroded and worn, especially at the beginning of E Pluribus Unum. I have a 1909 s myself. I am going to give it an acetone bath one of these days. The obverse on my coin isn't as good as this coin, besides the cleaning. But the reverse is better. I've never used acetone on a coin before. I'll try it out on some coins that I am not worried about what it does to them to get some experience first. I also have an 1870 IHC that I might use acetone on, but I'm 50/59 on whether I will or will not on that coin.
