Greetings From Portugal From Your Newest Member!

Hello everyone!

I got recommended this forum through an online friend who is a member, and among other things has received help countless times when ID'ing coins which will maybe be of great use to me!

Anyway, apart from that I come here to learn from you all and help contribute too, and be part of a good coin community!

I'm a student of mathematics from Portugal and I've been collecting for basically half of my life so far (but more seriously only somewhat recently, say 5 years). Nowadays I'm not only interested in the collecting aspect, my academic side is shining through and I'm now also very into studying coins and their history and all things related, so actually I can say I'm doing numismatics, I guess.

My main focuses at this moment are Portuguese hammered coins (so pre-milled, more or less 1690 or so) and also other Iberian coins from all ages, from pre roman to today, passing through the christian kingdoms and now with a special interest in the islamic period (no money for suebi or visigothic at the moment though )

I hope to bring something good to the community and to enjoy my time here as much as possible!
