I don't see any doubling, but I'm not knowledgeable about minor varieties.

It could be a part of an outline of a clash.

Looks like die scratches on that area. So the object used to polish the die made two die scratches into the void of the design, thus they are fading slowly. Not a doubled ear. Just a die event. When the die was created it was not there. After a polishing it was added to the die, in time these will wear off than the die die will appear normal, until retirement.
