While searching 10 cent rolls for doubled dies the past few months I keep catching examples of the 2020 bluenose with die polishing lines in the bottom portion of the sails and ropes.

There are plenty of regular 2020 dimes without these lines present, although this is fairly common finding both examples I still think some collectors may want to know about it as there are 2 stages of this anomaly (likely more).

Fairly heavy die polishing lines, stage 1.

Less heavy die polishing lines, stage 2.

I will try and get some full coin photos as you can actually see stage 1 with a simple loupe and a small tilt into the right lighting, so finding an example with the lines, and an example without the lines is actually fairly easy.

I like stage 3,reminds me of the 1990 bare belly, though that was more then just die polishing. I have not looked at many dimes other then studying the 2019 mint mark. I think I mainly stayed away from dine due to the size before I had my scope. I'm so far behind on my cents and nickels though. It has been a busy October for me, hopefully I'll have more time this month though doubtful with all the sorting I still need to do.

Anyways thanks for the info on this one I'll put a few of each aside:)

I thinks it's more related to "tool dammage by feed finger" or something like that.

Here is a link of another 10 cents I found with more dramatic scratches.

Such line in the field with east-west orientation is not unusual. I found such die damage on most denomination with same orientation.

SP67,
You might be right, but there are also some very minor lines going N/S closer to the right side of the sail, they might be hard to see in the photos but they are there and thats why I naturally assumed polishing lines.
