Again, I apologize for the garbage photos.

The obverse is the exact same as the reverse, and I honestly have no clue as to what language/symbol is presented. I thought it was perhaps Chinese or Japanese, but I wasn't able to find a match.

Hopefully you guys will have better luck!

EDIT: Diameter is 2.6 cm

@silver, is it attracted to a magnet?

This is a token, not a coin. Hopefully someone will be able to identify it for you.

Yes Spence, I justed tested it, it's magnetic.

Ah I see Seeker, that would make complete sense in relation to the obverse and reverse being the same. Thank you!

Interesting, while I can't find an exact match, based on the designs of similar tokens, I do believe you are correct.

In that case, I presume it does not exceed 50 years of age. Thank you alganbagerap!

If it's anonymous, oriental and approx one inch, patchinko is always a good call.

Very odd - it's the same character, which I believe to be "tian" (Chinese) / "ten" (Japanese), repeated over and over; the character means "heaven".
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

@sap and others. I wonder if you can comment on the fact that this piece is attracted to a magnet. I am far from an expert on pachinko tokens, but I don't think I've ever seen a steel one.

I'm not entirely sure it is a pachinko token. But what it might be instead, I have no clue.

Oh I am sorry, I didn't realize that there were more replies on this topic.

I don't wish to be resurrecting this thread, but thank you all for your comments, it's certainly an odd piece. Interesting to see that it has everyone stumped.

Perhaps in the future another one will resurface or more information will be stumbled upon, who knows?

Anyway, thank you for the interesting discussion.
