....as it could prove very costly.

Canadian silver dollar graded as an ms67 from PCGS, but I would bet all the tea in China this would never even make an ms65 at ICCS, more likely an ms63 ( or a stretch as an ms64).

Look at all the banged up marks in the obverse fields (an area that ICCS concentrates on when grading ms64 to ms66).

I'm not saying PCGS is in error.

Just saying certain factors, such as premium toning, greatly influences the graders at PCGS, whereas at ICCS, it means nothing.

So...if you only collect PCGS coins, then you're OK, but if you intend to send it to ICCS, then I would strongly advise you to look for another coin.

I've known for quite a while that US grading standards (PCGS, NGC, ANACS, etc.) don't match Canadian standards.
The same coin graded by a US TPG is almost graded higher than if graded by a Canadian TPG.

Keep that in mind.

It all depends on which TPG that you prefer and what denomination that you are wondering about. ICCS usually pays no attention to the surface luster or marks, so cleaning or fingerprints or unusual toning have little effect on an ICCS grade. The same coin to PCGS with the surface anomalies may make it a "details" coin with PCGS. PCGS is also very strict on red or red-brown coins. If you intend to maybe sell the coin to a Canadian, then use ICCS. Any other place, use PCGS with a few exceptions

It would be interesting to see what this coin looks like in hand. True View pictures are often pretty, but not always indicative what it looks like in hand. Based on the photo's I'm surprised this is a 67, it looks like more than a few hits, on the coin.

Certainly looks like a hit or two on the obverse in front of QE2's nose.....We all know how difficult it is to get a MS67 from ICCS. I think we can all agree this coin isn't worth $4,000 USD.

Gorgeous coin, but definitely overgraded. I send quite a few silver dollars to ICCS and can see this coin getting a 65...64 wouldn't particularly surprise me though. Likely submitted in the economy tier where graders just know what's pretty. I've sent better preserved pieces to PCGS with nice yet lesser toning and only ever get 65+ and 66 tops.
