Ok guys, I`m calling this Machine Doubling on the devices in "half" and "dollar". Am I correct? There`s so much info on coops md thread.

Correct. You will always find it on the insides and outsides of devices. A doubled die will be enlarged in the centers of the devices. The reduced area on MD is where the contour of the devices were removed on the device. MD can happen on normal and doubled dies. A doubled die is showing the spread on the die. On MD the machine alters the coin right after the strike.

Yep that's certainly Machine Doubling.

Coop's advice is spectacular as always, I'd recommend following it.

While it isn't worth anything, you could save it as an example!

I`m trying SilverCents, but its tough learning this stuff. Why o why am I finding so many md`s on these Kennedy 74d`s? I just found more real heavy on the "half" & "dollar" devices. And America. Probably 10-20 different ones. Mostly thr same places.

Don't worry, I was in your shoes at one point too. If you go way back to my first posts, you'll see how ridiculous they were.

Machine Doubling tends to be plentiful on KHDs, not entirely for sure why, but you'll find lots of it. I'm sure someone else will be able to tell you why you're finding so many (half dollars aren't exactly my area of expertise)

Guess everyone was at some point SilverCents, and no coin is my area of expertise. Haha I was doing my dads collection, (still am just taking a break), and was looking for silver in this box of halves. Then I saw a video on roll hunters that pass by variety and errors looking for strictly silver and I thought crap, what am I missing by not checking. Sooo, here I am. OMG what a process. So now anything I get Iv`e got to put under my microscope. WHEW!!!!
