1968D penny
The D mintmark looks totally different from the others. It is solid, there is no empty space in its center. Is this a new found error or some kind of RPM

The post on the die that forms the center has broken off the die, thus the mintmark appears filled in. Why? When a die chip or die crack or even something as small as a post breaks off the die, it leaves a void on the die. The on all of the strikes with that die going forward, will all show the filled in void on the coins until retirement of the die.

Sharper images might help, and please always show us the whole coin, both sides. Thanks.

This " filled in" mintmark is called a broken post mintmark. One of the interior sides broke, causing the metal to flow into it.

to the CCF!

Not a new error and can't be a RPM
Broken posts are common on P and D mint marks.
No extra value to it.

Agree, a broken post mint mark, softened a bit through circulation. Not terribly uncommon.
