One of the boxes I bought yesterday had a few spotty, partial UNC rolls from the 1940s. Maybe the best set was 25 1946-S which didn't have so many spots as the others. In that tube was this coin plus another of these, another double variety DDO-005 DDR-001 and a RPM-005.

Very nice. some is obvious, some not so much. Would you consider that to be an RPM as well?

Plus maybe a strike through grease on reverse.

Hi Dearborn,

Yes it is an RPM. I noted that in a couple places, it is RPM-014. But trust me, I am well aware that folks look at the images not so much the words.

The reverse could be a bit of Struck Through Grease, but the two weak spots (the O of ONE and the AME of AMERICA) are related to the high points on the opposite side. Might have been a little grease in there or just could have been a light strike and didn't fill the devices opposite those high points very well.

Yes, alas, I usually read the first sentence to get the 'jist' of a coin presented, then I go and have a look at the images to see if I can pick out some of the errors myself. But on this one I forgot to go back and finish reading.

That's actually a pretty good idea! Would help you spot things on a coin without knowing exactly what, but knowing there is something to find on there.
