1981 Lincoln Cent rev much MD but DD in parts of USA?

Machine Doubling on Left side of the devices. On the centers of the affected devices that is circulation wear/flattening on those areas. No devices are showing hub doubling. The overall size of the devices are normal in size. On a DDR, you would expect to see enlargement of devices.
No listings for a DDR on that year on V.V:

1982 and 1983 do have listing for those years for DDR's.
1982 examples show one strong DDR and they other one is a weaker DDR. (On the images on V.V there are Machine Doubling present on these images:

The DDR is pretty minor on this one (DIE 002)

1983 has stronger/mild DDRs, but when view SBS normal your can see the enlargement of the devices:

Spread is the difference. On your coin the coin wear made it look like spread, but it wasn't. The devices were normal in size. Hope this helps.
