Why does this quarter look rough on both sides the texture itself looks off like not smooth is it die chips Or something try to learn so I'm not bugging you guys to much. Please and thank you.

Your quarter just has circulation post mint damage. The rough surface as you describe *could* be a mild chemical damage *if* it came into contact with coffee or soda, but unless you witnessed this, any conjecture is simply guessing. Damage is damage however t was caused, and without question, your quarter did not leave the mint in the condition it currently displays. Your quarter has led a rough life in the 21 years since it was minted. Keep searching!

Thank you I just wanted to know I seen a post something about die chips (please don't quote me on that but any way) the thing I seen can make a coin look rough and dull wich is still a spender but just wanted to know for personal knowledge if this was an example.

@shor, I'm glad that you are looking at old threads here as that is a great way to learn. Die chips typically form at the edge of design features rather than in the middle of the fields.
