EDIT: @gsp193 - beat me out by seconds! (if I only didn't take time to type out the presidents name)

A Small Date with zinc rot starting to set in.
Spend it while there is still something left to it.

Agree, common small date zinc.

I so wish newbs would use the Search box to answer this simple question, but it seems unlikely.

Ultimately everyone is hoping they have hit the jackpot with this rare coin, but I agree with the Frog that spending 30 seconds searching past post here on CCF would yield all the details needed to answer this question. A search box to past posts here on CCF can be found on the upper left of every page.

I'm a newb that found a 1982 D Large Date - Copper and looking for confirmation by reading threads. It took about 3 threads but I confirmed I found a spender. Or a bullet tip when the zombie apocalypse happens, lol. I'll only post if I've exhausted my coin vocabulary searching to a) avoid ridicule and b) preserve the patience of tenured members.

And yes, I realize the irony of this post and what I just said.

Just wanted assure those members with the knowledge and wisdom that what they share here goes well beyond answering that one question for that one person. I, for one, appreciate your generosity of time and knowledge even though it wasn't intended for me.

well, , pinkfl, I hope you find what you came here looking for. I wouldn't worry about ridicule here we are a fairly pleasant group here. Remember the only stupid question is the one not asked.

Please, start a new topic anytime you want to talk about a coin or any other subject. This way you will get all the attention your posts deserves.
I have a question for you, But I'll wait until you have your own topic.

When you post pictures remember to try to have them cropped down to the rim of the coin, have it upright, and please try to post both sides of it.

Now back to the OP's coin.. (OP is short hand 'Original Poster', That took me a long time to figure out)

I agree with Dearborn, to the pinkfl !

When this question came up, it was like the 12th one in a row asking. Yes, I exaggerate, but we do have this question about large/small dates at least daily here on CCF. Learning to tell/see the difference in the date is something every halfway serious Lincoln Cent collector needs to grasp. Looking up material here on CCF is easy as there is a search box on the top left of every page. Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats forever.
